高工化工群學生蒸餾概念V形圖之研究

A Study on the Construction of Vee Maps for Concepts on Distillation for Chemical Engineering Cluster Students in Industrial High School

摘要


本研究採用臨床晤談方式探查高工化工揮學生對慕餾概念的認識,以Ault, Novak與Gowin等人所發展出來的方法進行資料分析,並利用晤談V形圖來呈現學生的認知結構。比較學生晤談V形圖與課本蒸餾概念架構圖,以及整理學生的宣稱之後,得到以下的幾點結論: 1.學生對蒸餾的基本原理大多能理解且述說清楚,所涉及的關係式及其意義則多不甚明瞭。 2.質量均衡方面的學習,學生亦表現得不理想。 3.學生對蒸餾實務上的瞭解存有一些誤解,例如將蒸餾與萃取混淆等等。 4.知識V圖強調概念領域與事實領域要素之間的交互作用;對化工機械而言,理論與實務的交互作用更是特別重要,而本研究結果顯示大多數學生在這方面做得不好。

clinical interview method was used in this study to probe the understanding of distillation concepts for chemical engineering cluster students in industrial high school. The method developed by Ault, Novak and Gowin for analyzing interview task and constructing interview vee map that represents student’s cognitive structure was adapted. In comparison of the interview vee maps for the students with the distillation template of the textbook, as well as with the claims made by the students, the author found the following conclusions 1.students understood the basical mechanism of distillation and described it clearly, but for the related laws of solution they did not understand it clearly. 2.students did not comprehend thoroughly mass balance of distillation tower either. 3.Some operational practices were found to be misunderstood by students. For instance, distillation was often confused with extraction. 4. Knowledge vee emphasizes the interplay between conceptual domain and factual domain. The Unit Operation course also focuses on the interation of theory and practice. Nevertheless, in this study it was found that most students did not relate theory to practice well.
