摘要

Inflammatory myofibroblastic tumors (IMTs) of the lateral skull base are a rare condition usually accompanied by hearing loss and otalgia. Although IMTs often appear to be benign, they can display malignant characteristics. Although they can usually be managed via surgical resection or corticosteroids, these treatments are sometimes combined with radiotherapy or chemotherapy according to the affected area and clinical condition. Surgical resection of IMTs of the lateral skull base may be an appropriate choice due to the relative accessibility of this brain region, and a good prognosis is often achieved. We share our experience with and provide a clinical review of this rare condition.

側顱骨底的發炎性肌纖維母細胞腫瘤為相當罕見的疾病，常以聽力損失和耳朵痛的症狀表現。雖然該腫瘤為一良性分類腫瘤，然而還是有些病例在臨床上出現較為惡性的表現。常見的治療方法為手術切除和類固醇治療，有時會依據腫瘤侵犯的區域以及病患的臨床表現去輔以放射線治療和化學治療。側顱骨底的發炎性肌纖維母細胞腫瘤因其位置較易處理，因此在處置上常選擇用手術切除的方式並能達到良好的預後。我們提出此案例來分享治療的經驗以及針對此罕見案例提供文獻回顧。
