技職院校大專學生英文寫作錯誤之分析與探討—以美和技術學院為例

An Analytical Study of Errors in College Students' English Writing: A Case Study at Mei-Ho Institute of Technology

摘要


英文寫作能力之獲得可說是英文聽、說、讀、寫四種基本能力中最困難的一部份,一位良好的寫作者必須藉由明確的主題與正確的寫作結構清楚地表達其情感或思想以便與讀者作適當的溝通;雖然台灣自九十學年度起全面實施國小英語教學,但目前就讀於大專院校的學生大多數是從國中開始學習英文,即使已學了英文好幾年,到了大專階段仍有許多學生無法正確地寫好一篇英文作文,究其因素包括母語(中文)的干擾、模糊的文法觀念及字彙的不足等等:台灣一直致力於成為亞太營運中心,而且目前許多重要的研發成果、高科技資訊等資料多以英文為流通語言,而國際問之交流亦皆以英文作為溝通媒介,因此英文儼然成為立足二十一世紀不可或缺的工具,所以如何加強台灣大專生英文寫作能力以因應未來的需求是不容忽視的課題。

Writing skill is the most difficult part of English competence to acquire. A good English writer needs to express his or her thoughts and feelings clearly and appropriately to communicate with his or her readers. For Taiwanese students, English is a foreign language; therefore, they may need a lot of training and practice to write a good English article. Although college students have studied English since junior high school, they still cannot write or speak English freely and correctly. After the author studied her students’ English compositions, she found that the major problems in English writing included interference of the mother tongue (Chinese), unclear grammatical concepts, inadequate vocabulary, etc. Taiwan has made efforts to compete with other countries in the world for many years. Regardless of whether such competition is successful, English will play an important role in the future, and English writing ability is the indicator of English competence. In addition, much important research and technological information is presented in English. Therefore, if the students in Mei-Ho Institute of Technology want to compete with those in other schools, it is quite important for them to enforce English competence to meet future needs.
