NBINet合作館合作編目現況及滿意度調查研究

A Survey Study on Current State of Cooperative Cataloging Practice and the Associated Satisfaction Level of NBINet Member Libraries

摘要


本研究目的是為了解當今NBINet合作成員圖書館的編目現況、以及其對NBINet各項服務之需求度及滿意度。本研究透過向NBINet合作成員圖書館進行了問卷調查,再以問卷調查結果為根據,進行分析研究。本研究的主要發現包括:1.不同的圖書館採用的編目規範存在明顯分歧;2.圖書館進行抄錄編目時遭遇的最大問題是「同一著作查詢結果得到的書目資料筆數過多,必須耗費甚多時間進行判斷」;3.採用RDA編目規則進行編目的圖書館有明顯的增加;4.圖書館對於NBINet所提供的各種服務中,以「抄錄編目」及「書目查詢」並列需求最高;需求度最低者為「權威控制」;5.「全國新書資訊網」及「OCLC World Cat」是NBINet資料庫以外,合作館下載中西文書目之主要來源;6.合作館對書目中心提供之服務,以「書目中心人員服務態度」之滿意度最高;滿意度最低者為「NBINet網頁」及「合作館上傳書目及權威資料之獎勵制度」;7.整體而言,合作館對書目中心提供的服務達「滿意」程度;8.合作館期望系統新增提供其登入系統的權限,允許其變更修訂其圖書館書目資料之功能;9.部分調查項目之需求程度及滿意度因圖書館屬性而有所差異。此外,作者進一步與2006年的調查結果進行比較後,提出結論與建議,期能作為NBINet合作編目未來發展之參考。

The purpose of this study is to understand the current state of cataloging practice in NBINet partner libraries, as well as their demand for and satisfaction with NBINet services. This research conducted a questionnaire survey to the NBINet cooperative member libraries, and then conducted an analysis research based on the results of the questionnaire survey. The main findings of this study include: 1. There are obvious differences in the cataloging standards adopted by different libraries; 2. The biggest problem encountered by libraries when conducting copy cataloging is that the number of bibliographic records yielded from the query for the same work is too many, thus it takes tremendous effort and time to verify and identify the most appropriate record for copy cataloging; 3. Libraries that implement RDA cataloging rules for cataloging have increased significantly; 4. Among the various services provided by NBINet, libraries have the highest demand for the services related with "copy cataloging" and "bibliographic search," and have the least demand for the service related to "authority control;" 5. In addition to the NBINet database, the "ISBN Catalog"provided by the NCL- ISBN Agency in Taiwan and the "OCLC WorldCat" are the other two main sources for partner libraries to download Chinese and Western-language bibliographic records; 6. As for the satisfaction degree towards the services provided by the NCL Bibliographic Information Center, the criterion of "staff performance and services" received the highest degree of satisfaction, and the lowest satisfaction degree was about the "NBINet Website" and the "incentives for partner libraries for their contribution in uploading bibliographic records and authority records;" 7. In general, the average satisfaction degree towards the NCL Bibliographic Information Center was at the "satisfactory" level; 8. The opinion that some partner libraries shared is that they wish the NBINet system could allow member libraries to log in to alter/ amend their bibliographic records; 9. It was observed that the responses from libraries concerning some specific questions might be very different due to the property/ mission differences of their library. Finally, the author had done a comparison with the findings of the survey conducted in 2006, and made suggestions for future consideration in the conclusion, wishing that this research could benefit the development of NBINet cooperative cataloging practice in the future.
