This paper is a review of the clinical characteristics, diagnostic criteria and main drug causes of the severe cutaneous adverse reactions to drugs (SCAR) that are studied by the RegiS-CAR-group. These include acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis, drug reaction with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms (also called drug-induced hypersensitivity syndrome), Stevens-Johnson syndrome, and toxic epidermal necrolysis.
