從建築家務性出發

Rethinking the Studies of Domesticity in Architecture

摘要

本文試圖在女性主義的立場上，藉由建築家務性的強調與歷史梳理，直面臺灣長期以來性別缺席的建築現代性論述。西方女性主義理論向來都以性別政治作為扣合實踐的論述目標，家務性的研究亦是如此。不同歷史階段的女性主義論述面對著不同的性別處境，存在著差異極大的性別政治策略。本文第一段將梳理女性主義者們對於「家」以及家務角色在性別政治上的不同見解，以及家務性在性別主體生成過程中的物質、空間意涵。落到建築論述上，女性主義建築學者的性別政治論述光譜也從建築與性別權力關係的解構及顛覆思維到積極建構另類專業實踐方向，展現多元的女性主義建築論述策略。本文第二段摘述西方九零年代女性主義建築史與家務科技論述，呈現家務性的多元研究進路。在這些學術養份下，本文第三段從家務性的歷史建構出發，簡述戰後臺北都會現代性打造的歷程，回應既有建築現代性論述的性別缺席。

Embracing with feminist standpoint, this article tends to unfold a journey between architectural studies and gender studies. Based on concerning the body as a inscribed site of power, this article aims to re-emphasizing the studies on architectural domesticity. Since feminists have taken variously view on whether home should be the emancipation end or not, the first part of this article tries to deal with the feminists' discussions on the value of holding and cultivating a family by women. Along with the positive attitude, the second part is to revisit the preceding feminist studies among architectural history, science and technology studies, architectural critique, etc., and to demonstrate the multi-colored effects of these studies. And the last part of this article comes to the historical construction of modern domestic life of Taipei after the war. And elaborate the specific historical process of modernity of our own with an alternative view on studies of architectural domesticity.
