Gastrointestinal stromal tumor (GIST) is the most common mesenchymal tumor of the gastrointestinal tract. It is often clinically silent until it reaches a large size, bleeds, or ruptures. Massive intraperitoneal bleeding is an unexpected and unusual clinical presentation of GIST. We report a case of gastric stromal tumor of a 38-year-old female patient presenting with intraperitoneal hemorrhage and review the related literature.
