C.A. Bowers生態文化教育學之探究

Inquiry into C. A. Bowers's Ecological Culture Pedagogy

摘要


本文採教育詮釋學的方法,進行Bowers生態文化教育學之探究,研究目的包括分析Bowers生態文化教育學之思想淵源,探究Bowers生態文化教育學之主要內涵,評價Bowers生態文化教育學之優劣得失,闡述Bowers生態文化教育學之重要啟示。首先,Bowers的思想淵源受到Leopold大地倫理、Bateson生態智慧和Burke保守主義之影響。其次,Bowers的主要內涵包括保守主義和生態正義教育學之基礎、課程及實踐。第三,Bowers的優劣得失在於,透過生態文化教育重新審視理性主義的新思維、思索文化塑造的可能性、探討科技產生的狀況、建立生態正義的新思維和檢討教育制度的新問題等;問題包括文化界定範圍太狹隘、科技導入教學的利弊及生態智慧具有矛盾性。儘管Bowers生態文化教育學存有一些問題,仍可作為我國改善環境教育課程和教學之參考。

This study used the method of educational hermeneutics to investigate C. A. Bowers's ecological culture pedagogy. The research purposes included to analyze the thought origins of Bowers's ecological culture pedagogy; to investigate the main contents of Bowers's ecological culture pedagogy; to evaluate the pros and cons of Bowers's ecological culture pedagogy; to interpret important revelations of Bowers's ecological culture pedagogy. First of all, the thought origins of Bowers's ecological cultural pedagogy included Leopold's land ethics, the ecological wisdom of Bateson and the influence of Burke's conservatism. Secondly, the main contents of Bowers's ecological culture pedagogy included conservatism, the basis of ecological justice education, curriculum and practice. Thirdly, the advantages of Bowers's ecological culture pedagogy included the re-examination of the new thinking of rationalism through ecological culture education, rethinking the possibility of cultural shaping, re-exploring the new situation of science and technology, re-establishing ecology The new thinking of eco-justice and the re-examination of the new problems of the education system. The disadventages included that the difinition scope of culture was excessively narrow, introduction of technology in instruction was double-headed and the ecological wisdom had consistency. Finally, the important revelations of Bowers's ecological culture pedagogy included the curriculum and instruction of ecological (environment) education. Although Bowers ecological culture pedagogy has some problems, it can still be used as a reference for improvement of the curriculum and instruction of environmental education in our country, it is worth our attention.
