IR Analysis of the Polyurethane Resins by a Modified Method

以改進的紅外線法分析聚氨基甲酸酯樹脂

將聚丁二醇(PTMEG)與過量的異佛爾酮二異氰酸酯(IPDI)反應而得三種不同NCO(異氰酸酯)含量的濕氣硬化聚氨基甲酸酯樹脂。濕氣硬化聚氨基甲酸酯樹脂利用石英片載塗試樣的改進方法進行紅外線(IR)光譜分析來加以描述。先以FTIR掃描石英片在4000至2100 cm^(-1)範圍的光譜作為背景,再測定塗有濕氣硬化氨基甲酸酯樹脂的石英片的IR光譜。在4000至2100 cm^(-1)範圍的IR光譜可清楚看出氨基甲酸酯樹脂的NH,CH及NCO特性吸收峰。利用石英片作為試樣載片可成功的用於濕氣硬化聚氨基甲酸酯樹脂的IR光譜分析。由塗有樹脂的石英片所得的相對吸收度與NCO含量呈良好線性關係,顯示濕氣硬化氨基甲酸酯樹脂的NCO含量可利用此改進方法來加以定量。另外,利用此改進方法分析濕氣硬化氨基甲酸酯樹脂的定量效果較傳統的鹽片方法為佳。

Three moisture curable polyurethane resins with different NCO (isocyanate) contents were prepared by reacting a poly(tetramethylene ether) glycol (PTMEG) with excess Isophorone diisocyanate (IPDI), and they were characterized by the IR (infra red) spectroscopic analysis by a modified method with the quartz plate as the sample carrier. A quartz plate was scanned as the background in the FTIR in the range of 4000 to 2100 cm^(-1), and IR spectra of the moisture curable polyurethane resin coated quartz plates were scanned. In this IR range of 4000 to 2100 cm^(-1), the characteristic peaks of NH, CH and NCO groups of the polyurethane resins can be seen clearly. Thus, the use of the quartz plate as the sample carrier is proved to be successful in the IR analysis of the moisture curable polyurethane resins. The relationship between the relative absorbance of the resin coated quartz plate and the NCO content shows good linearity, indicating that the NCO content of the moisture curable polyurethane resins can be quantitatively determined by this modified method. It can be also seen that the quantitative analysis of the moisture curable polyurethane resins by this modified method is better than the conventional salt plate method.
