日治時期臺北大村武能舞臺研究

Study on Noh Stage Built in Taipei Under Japanese Colonial Rule

摘要


能樂是十四世紀中葉發展成熟的日本傳統戲劇。日治時期,在臺灣各地的日人社群之中,展開過多種形式的能樂活動,例如出現過很多由能樂愛好者們組成的練習、演唱能樂的團體,各團體持續開展過多種活動,擧辦過各種規模的演出。在這樣的背景之下,1924年能樂演員大村武在他臺北的家宅之中建造了一座演出能樂的正規能舞臺。至1945年,大村武等在臺能樂指導者、愛好者們在這座舞臺上練習、演出了二十多年能樂。彼時這座能舞臺應是日人開展能樂活動的中心據點。現今,能舞臺早已蕩然無存,可是,在臺北西門町商圈有一家正在營業的店名叫「大村武」的居酒屋。筆者考察大村武居酒屋的老房子,是1924年能樂演員大村武建造的居宅的一部分,是大村武能舞臺的相關遺址。這是目前所知日本境外唯一一座能舞臺相關遺址。臺北大村武能舞臺,以前未引起臺灣研究界的關注。本文結合文獻研究,田野調查及田野訪談,考察當年大村武能舞臺的所在位置、建造經緯、舞臺樣式、使用狀況,依據現存大村武居酒屋老房子的樣式、結構,分析、判斷能舞臺朝向、空間佈局,還原在這座舞臺演出能樂的面貌,豐富彼時臺北地區日人社群精神活動之歷史見證。

Noh is a traditional Japanese drama that has grew into full mat ured since the middle of the fourteenth century. When Japanese colonized Taiwan, Japanese in Taiwan carried out various activities of Noh, including performances and exercises. This is the background in which Oomura Takeshi, a Noh actor, built a Noh stage in his house in Taipei in 1924. From then on, instructors and fans of Noh in Taiwan had rehearsed and acted on this Noh stage for more than 20 years until 1945. During this period, Takeshi's Noh stage was the centre for Japanese activities of Noh in Taipei. No remnant of this Noh stage remains today, but one Izakaya (Japanese bar) named "Oomura Takeshi" in Ximending, one of the bustling business districts in Taipei, is found that its architecture belongs to part of Oomura Takeshi's house built in 1924. Insofar as the scope of historical records, this is the only found heritage site relating to Noh stage outside Japan. This Noh stage has never gain attention from Taiwan's academy. Combining literature research, field works and interviews with relevant individuals, this paper attempts to reconstruct the location, shape, style and usage of Takeshi's Noh stage with reference to the anatomy of the structure of the current "Oomura Takeshi". By so doing, not only can the performance of Noh on this stage be envisaged, but also can the cultural activities of Japanese community in Taipei at that time be historically witnessed.
