The impacts, coping behaviors and mental health of college students under the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic

The content of the questionnaire included: personal characteristics, pandemic impacts, coping behaviors and the revised version of the Impact of Event Scale. Statistical methods used descriptive statistics and multiple regression analysis. Results: College students did not feel severely about pandemic impacts, but their coping behaviors were very rigorous, and traumatic stress was lower than in other countries' studies. The higher the household income vulnerability, the higher the pandemic impact and traumatic stress. Those who believed that the pandemic prevention policies can help reduce panic, the pandemic impacts and traumatic stress were lower, and the coping behaviors were higher. Those who were willing to be vaccinated had higher pandemic impacts and coping behaviors. Conclusion: In addition to continuing to promote anti-pandemic policies, the government and schools also need to care about students whose household income are severely affected during the pandemic.
