新自由主義、環保與不平等:從基督教角度討論海耶克政治經濟學

Neoliberalism, Environmental Protection and Inequality: The Exploration of Hayek's Political Economy from a Christian Perspective

並列摘要

The global economy has been heavily influenced by Hayek's neoliberal economics in the past. This article explores Hayek's political economy and argues that while a market economy can help economic growth, it also lead to environmental damage and great disparities between the rich and the poor. Moreover, the development of Western capitalism has its unique historical factors, which may not be fully applicable to other countries. Hayek's criticism of the planned economy is not entirely reasonable. This article also explores Daly's Christian environmental economics and points out that its understanding of nature is more in line with Christian theology and natural science than Hayek's. Afterwards, this article explores and refutes Hayek's criticism of the concept of social justice, it points out that the current great disparity between the rich and the poor has resulted in general downward social mobility, society becomes very unfair, and the poor are more difficult to live, which is violating the economic ethics created by God. Human beings (especially Christians), as stewards of God's creation, have a responsibility to promote the development of a more environmentally friendly and fair economic order in society.
