The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of Kinesio taping and sports taping in lower extremity flexibility, muscles strength, muscles endurance, muscles power, dynamic balance for athletes. Thirty seven college athletes were randomly divided into three groups (kinesio taping (KT) group, Sports taping (ST) group and control group). Functional performance testing included the active ankle dorsiflexion and plantar flexion, vertical jump, muscles strength, muscles endurance and dynamic balance test. At last, we used the one-way ANCOVA to analyze the differences between the three groups. Results are displayed in the active plantar flexion of the ankle joint angle, ST group relative to the control group significantly decreased (P < .05), KT group relative to the ST group achieved significant increase in the muscle strength (P < .05), the rest of the test values didn't reach significant difference.
