Right hamate body posterior fracture with the 4th and 5th carpometacarpal joint dislocation: A case report

摘要

There are few reports of hamate body fractures in the literature. The prevalence of hamate fractures is about 2%, and that of hamate body fracture is less than 2%. We present a case of right hamate body posterior fracture with 4th and 5th carpometacarpal (CMC) joint dislocation and the treatment and the prognosis. A young man complained right hand pain and disability after hitting the wall with right clenched fist. Imagining studies revealed a right hamate body posterior fracture with 4th and 5th CMC joint dislocation. The hamate fracture was treated with headless compression screws, and the dislocation was reduced and fixed with two K-wires. On follow-up, the range of motion of the finger was fair and grasping power good. Overall, his hand function was good.
