摘要

Treatment of chronic complex elbow dislocation is a challenging task to trauma and orthopaedic surgeons. Associated fracture-nonunion, advanced fibrotic change of soft tissue, and contracture of triceps make the goal of restoring a stable joint and functional range of motion difficult to achieve. Speed’s triceps lengthening and ring external fixation both have been successful in the treatment of chronic elbow dislocation. However, triceps contracture and complications following ring external fixator are still major concerns in the treatment of chronic elbow dislocation. In the present case, we report our successful experiences in the treatment of chronic elbow fracture-dislocation with fixation of coronoid fracture, repair of medial lateral ligament and lateral collateral ligament without triceps lengthening or post-operative external fixator in a 16-year-old boy.
