北歐式健走對老年人身體功能之探討

摘要


身體的各項機能,隨著年齡漸增會逐漸衰退,年長者若不注重平日的身體活動量,容易出現肥胖、高血壓、高血脂、糖尿病......等情形,增加罹患死亡的風險。研究指出,老年人養成規律運動的習慣,會有較佳的自理生活能力、提高生活品質,和減少社會醫療的負擔。健走已經普及為一項全民化的運動,也是最多老年人從事的運動。研究報導指出,北歐式健走對身體的影響比一般健走來的好,配合雙手使用健走仗的步行運動,上肢的肌力、柔軟度、心肺功能等皆明顯增加,同時也減少了雙腳承受身體重量的負荷。其他相關研究顯示,某些疾病像是帕金森氏症、慢性阻塞性肺病、纖維肌痛症的患者,所出現較差的平衡感、步態不穩、易跌倒的情形,在進行北歐健走之後症狀也都明顯獲得改善。對老年人來說此運動實屬一種緩和、低危險性且能促進身體功能的運動。

The functions of the body with increasing age will gradually decline, the lack of daily physical activity, can increase the prevalence of obesity, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, diabetes, and the risk of death. Research data demonstrated that the elderly who exercise regularly have better quality of life, self care ability of living, and reduce the medical costs. Walking is a popular exercise and majority of the eldly engaged in this exercise. Research data showed that nordic walking produce better effect than walking in terms of upper limb muscle strength, flexibility, cardiopulmonary function, and reduce the loading of the lower limb. Other studies also showed that subject who participated in the nordic walking can improve the Parkinson's disease, chronic obstruction pulmonary disease, fibromyalgia symptom, balance, fall, gate instability. For elderly, nordic walking is a moderate, low risk exercise and can promote the body functions.
