摘要

已舉辦二十多年的台北羽球公開賽，是台灣羽球運動與國際交流的重大活動之一，國內外的優秀選手同台競技的盛況，引起筆著的研究動機，想更全面探討台灣羽球運動與國際交流的情形，進一步瞭解台灣羽球運動發展的全貌。然而中華民國羽球協會自1956年成立以來，經過數次改選，這段時期諸多相關資料已遺失，故資料之遺漏乃本文之研究限制。本文以文獻分析法，蒐集1949年國民政府遷台後至2000年，有關台灣羽球運動在國際間交流情形之文獻，加以分析探討，而有以下之研究發現：一、中華民國羽球協會成立於1956年12月5日，隔年成為國際羽球總會會員，開始與國際羽球總會各會員國間正式的羽球運動交流。二、1970年代前，我羽球運動交流對象主要為亞洲國家，國家代表隊成員則以東南亞華僑或僑生為主，最佳成績為1966年第五屆曼谷亞運團體賽銅牌。三、1970年代後，為提升國內羽球競技水準及維護我在國際羽總的會籍，我開始積極與歐美各國交流活動，並1980年舉辦「台北國際羽球邀請賽」，於1995年改為公開賽。四、歷屆正式的國際羽球比賽交流中，我國選手雖偶有佳績，但整體而言並不出色，顯示我國羽球競技水準仍待提升。

Taipei Badminton Open, which has been held for over 20 years, is one of the most important activities connecting badminton in Taiwan with the world. The grandeur of the competition among excellent players from different countries inspired my motivation to investigate the intercommunication between Taiwan badminton and the world, so that I could have further understanding of the development of badminton in Taiwan. However, because Chinese-Taipei Badminton Association has experienced reorganization for several times since founded in 1956, many related data had been lost, which caused the limitation of my research.I analyzed and investigated the documents about the intercommunication between Taiwan badminton and the world from 1949 (the National Government moved to Taiwan) to 2000, and discovered that:1.Chinese-Taipei 8adminton Association was founded on December 5th 1956; and became a member of International Badminton Federation the next year, then began the official interaction with other members.2.Before the 70s, we mainly interacted with Asian countries, and the national representatives were mostly Southeast Asian oversea Chinese or students. Winning the bronze medal of group contest in the 5th Asian Games in 8angkok (1966) was the greatest achievement on record.3.After the 70s, to refine our competitive technique and protect our membership in International Badminton Federation, we began to interact with American and European countries actively. We had held International Badminton Invitation Tournament in Taipei every year since 1980, and changed it into an open tournament in 1995.4.Though sometimes our players perform well in the official international tournaments, but there is no outstanding achievement as a whole. It shows that the competitive technique of badminton in Taiwan still needs improving.
