Whether health preventive or rehabilitation, medical staff often have to recommend sports to people, but a wide range of sports, and suitable for the elderly, people with chronic diseases, tai chi exercise is best choice. Nowadays Tai Chi has been widely accepted by the Western Medicine, and more and more studies demonstrate its benefits to the medical problem, such as preventing falls of the elderly in the community, improving balance, enhancing muscle strength, increasing oxygen carrying capacity, improving chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and getting benefit for patients with heart disease, rehabilitation after stroke etc. However, some diseases such as diabetes, chronic heart failure, rheumatoid arthritis have so far shown no evidence of benefit. This article reviews many system review articles, the results of systematic reviews provide evidence-based information for the medical staff.
