夜市看板之語言景觀調查-以高雄市勞工公園夜市為例

Linguistic Landscape Survey of Kanban in the Labor Park Night Market in Kaohsiung City

摘要


夜市是臺灣的特色景點之一,不僅是臺灣人休閒娛樂的場所,也是外國旅客來臺,主要遊覽觀光景點。本研究旨在調查高雄市夜市看板之語言景觀(linguistic landscape),研究範圍為高雄市勞工公園夜市,共計313家攤商,其中239家攤商使用看板,比率為76.36%。研究結果分為夜市攤商類型、夜市攤商使用看板比率、夜市看板語言組合類型,以及各類型攤商看板之語言特徵呈現,在語言特徵方面發現在以下幾點:1.使用日文「の」表示中文的「的」。2.販售異國美食、商品之攤商看板偏好使用外語。3.使用外語之看板多有拼錯或使用錯誤的現象。4.運用注音符號或同音字表達臺語的意義。5.標價或品名的字體大於店名。6.看板上出現較多廣告詞。綜觀勞工公園夜市看板的語言景觀,在信息功能(Information function)方面,可以了解夜市看板的語言特徵、使用情況等等。本研究希望透過對於夜市看板的語言景觀分析,使得讀者更了解夜市看板的語言景觀,從中了解夜市看板的語言景觀有何特色。同時也希冀本研究得以拓展高雄市語言景觀之記載,提供對這片土地或夜市有興趣的人,相關的資料與分析。

The purpose of this study is to investigate the linguistic landscape of kanban, in a Kaohsiung City Night Market, specifically in the Kaohsiung Labor Park Night Market. Kanban is a sign that includes characters from one or more languages to advertise what they are selling. In this market, 239 out of 313 vendors use kanban, or 76.36%. The findings of the study are organized in 4 parts: characteristics of night market stalls; the ratio of night market stalls that use Kanban; combinations of night market kanban usage; and language features by various types of vendors. Language features fall into the following categories: 1. Use Japanese "の"/Represents Chinese "的". 2. kanbans of vendors that sell foreign foods and merchandise tend to contain more foreign languages. 3. Many kanban usages include misspellings or incorrect use of foreign languages. 4. Chinese phonetic symbols or homophones are used to indicate Taiwanese. 5. The font of the price or product name is bigger than the store name. 6. The kanban incorporates many advertising words. The analysis discusses the language features and usage of the kanban in night markets in order to identify characteristics of the linguistic landscape of the kanban in night markets. The study hopes to expand understanding of the Kaohsiung linguistic landscape by providing relevant information and analysis for those who are interested in this city or night markets.
