星雲大師的宗教法治思想是他對民國以來的宗教立法及當代台灣宗教管理問題長期理論思考與實踐探索的結果。星雲大師宗教法治思想內容豐富、系統全面，涉及到宗教法治問題的各個方面，包括宗教立法的宗旨、宗教組織的體制與活動規範、宗教組織管理者和教職人員的資格、宗教組織財產、 宗教社會事業、宗教教育等，且在一系列問題上都有深刻獨到的分析和闡釋。星雲大師的宗教法治思想是一筆寶貴的思想理論財富，尤其對於海峽兩岸的宗教法治建設，具有重要的理論和實踐價值。

Venerable Master Hsing Yun's view on religious laws is a result of his long term contemplation and practical observation in religious legislation and management issues of Taiwan. He has a rich, systematic, and complete outlook on issues regarding religious laws, which includes the objectives of religious legislation, organizational management and scope of activities, qualification of the manager and ministry of religious organizations, property rights, social undertakings, and educational endeavors. Furthermore, he has exhibited unique ways of analyzing and interpreting such issues. Venerable Master Hsing Yun's view on religious laws is a priceless intellectual asset, especially to the theoretical and practical implementation of religious legislation on both sides of the Strait.
