摘要

所謂星雲大師人間佛教思想的特徵，是指星雲大師人間佛教思想在其展開的樣態與結構中表現出來的特質。本文分別從詮釋方法、傳統觀念、論說模式、價值追求四個方面，來探討及凸顯大師人間佛教思想的這種特徵，認為在其人間佛教思想的各個方面，都蘊涵著一種內在的「張力」結構。作者不主張繼續採取傳統的「不二」概念，而寧願採取此種「張力結構」的說法，以揭大師思想的這種特質，因為正是這樣的「張力」體現了大師人間佛教思想應運而來的現代特質。本文還主張，準確把握大師思想的這種特徵對於審察漢傳佛教中人間佛教思想的歷史、現實及未來尤具極端重要的意義。

The characteristics of the so-called Venerable Master Hsing Yun's thoughts of Humanistic Buddhism are referring to the special features reflected in the form and structure of Venerable Master Hsing Yun's Humanistic Buddhism. This paper is a discussion and an examination of Venerable Master's thoughts of Humanistic Buddhism from four aspects: hermeneutics, traditional ideology, discourse patterns, and value pursuit, which all contain an inherent structure of tension. The focus of this paper is not on the traditional concept of ＂advayam＂, but on the inherent structure of tension, which reveals the distinctions in Venerable Master Hsing Yun's ideology because this＂tension＂ is the modern characteristic of Venerable Master Hsing Yun's Humanistic Buddhism. This paper also argues that an accurate understanding of the characteristics of Venerable Master Hsing Yun's thoughts has a significant importance in understanding the past, the present, and the future of Humanistic Buddhism as well as Chinese Buddhism.
