Development of the Parents' Perceived Parenting Skills Questionnaire

家長自覺親職技巧問卷的發展

Parenting skills are crucial for the development of children with developmental delay in early intervention. This study describes development of the Parents' Perceived Parenting Skills Questionnaire (PPPSQ) to evaluate parenting skills of parents who receive early intervention (EI) services in Taiwan. A questionnaire with 22 items was developed after performing a literature review, a preliminary data analysis, and validation by an expert meeting. Two hundred and fifty-seven parents from local EI Case Management Centers of nine counties completed the PPPSQ after signed inform consent. Five factors were identified and named "Understanding the development and condition of the child," "Knowing how to assist the child to develop," "Ability to obtain EI resources," "Interaction with family and others," and "Confidence on being a parent" based on exploratory factor analysis. Parents scored highest in "Interaction with family and others" and lowest in "Knowing how to assist the child to develop." Education level and frequency of the parents' accompaniments to treatments was positively correlated the perceived parenting skills.

早期療育的服務中,親職技巧對於發展遲緩兒童的發展來說非常重要。本研究描述了家長自覺親職技巧問卷的發展,這份問卷可以用來評估臺灣接受早期療育服務家長的親職技巧的狀況。這份問卷的發展經過了文獻回顧、預試問卷資料分析與專家會議審查的階段,共有22題。九個縣市的早期療育個案管理中心在徵求家長知情同意後,協助發放問卷給257位家長填寫,探索性因素分析的結果顯示本問卷包含五個因素,分別是「瞭解孩子的發展與狀況」、「知道如何協助孩子發展」、「有能力得到所需要的早期療育資源」、「能夠與家人及他人互動」、「有信心擔任家長」,家長填寫的分數顯示在「能夠與家人及他人互動」的分數最高,在「知道如何協助孩子發展」的分數最低,教育程度與陪伴孩子接受早期療育的頻率與家長自覺的親職技巧有正向相關。
