THE COMPARISON OF CHINESE AND WESTERN MARRIAGE CUSTOM CULTURE
摘要
Marriage is the basic system and form of sexual union in human society, and the custom of marriage comes into being with life. It is a long-standing marriage behavior that reflects a certain sense of marriage. Marriage custom culture is a kind of cultural form contained in both Chinese and Western cultures. The specific study of marriage custom culture can help us further analyze the two cultures. This paper compares the marriage customs culture between China and the West mainly from the following four aspects: premarital ceremony, wedding ceremony, wedding banquet, and dress. By finding out the differences and common ground in marriage customs between China and the West, this paper aims to promote mutual understanding of people from different countries on their marriage customs and cultures in cross-cultural exchanges, and mutual respect for the cultural conflicts caused by differences. On this basis, cultural exchanges could be promoted between countries.
