Electronic records are inevitable products of electronic government. Owing to computerization of business operations, the amount of electronic records in government agencies increases dramatically. Digital knowledge assets such as electronic records will be suitably preserved and used on behalf of their life-cycle management. Summarizing suggestions from the national archives of four nations, this study proposed a preliminary framework of life-cycle management on electronic records for further discussion.
