It is a big issue about teenagers’ drug use in recent years. The government have invested a lot of resources to solve the problems, and proposed a number of amendments on Juvenile Delinquency Act and Narcotics Hazard Prevention Act. Besides the law making, according the ideas of social work, the welfare groups and NGOs have cultivated for years in helping teenagers quit drug use in Taiwan. The core of this in-depth reporting tries to tell how these social workers help teenagers quit drug use and return to society. This reporting also put efforts to clarify the counselling and drug-quitting measures of relevant organizations and their effectiveness. Through the reflection of social work experience, this reporting also inquiries the roots of “mental dependence on drugs” which let teenagers wouldn’t keep away from drug by interviewing social workers and drug-use teenagers.
