The Effect of Sense of Direction and Self-Regulation on Learning Experience in Virtual Reality

Since the 1980s, many studies have invested virtual reality applications in education and tested their effectiveness. At the same time, some studies have pointed out that the sense of direction of the media has an impact on the learning experience of users. In addition to the sense of direction, self-adjustment is also one of the factors that affect the virtual reality learning experience. Therefore, this research will allow learners to use virtual reality equipment for learning activities, and through questionnaires and interviews, to explore the virtual reality learner's sense of direction and self-adjustment and learning experience. It is hoped that the results of the study will be used as a reference for researchers, educators or designers. The course of implementation was from November 109 to April 110. The subjects of the study were 32 students from a university in the northern part of education-related departments, using virtual reality devices and collecting the subjects' sense of direction scales, self-adjusting scales, and learning experience scales. After the experiment, 8 subjects were randomly selected for interviews to understand their feelings and feedback in the experience. The results showed that the sense of direction was not significantly correlated with all four orientations of learning experience. Self-adjustment has no significant correlation in learning anxiety, but it is significantly related to self-efficacy, learning motivation and learning ability construction in virtual reality. The conclusions of this study are as follows: 1. The sense of direction and self-adjustment for virtual reality learning experience in learning anxiety is not significantly related. 2. The sense of direction for virtual reality learning experience self-efficacy, learning motivation, learning ability construction are not significantly related. 3. Self-adjustment is significantly related to self-efficacy, learning motivation and learning ability construction in virtual reality learning experience. 4. The sense of direction and self-adjustment of the virtual reality learning experience of learning anxiety is not significantly related, in self-efficacy, learning motivation, learning ability construction has a significant correlation. Finally, based on the conclusions, the researchers put forward suggestions for researchers, educators, and designers.
