圖書館主題兒童繪本的童趣性與圖書館價值之研究

A Study on the Content Presentation and Library Core Vaule of Children’s Picture Books

摘要


本研究針對五十本中文與英文之以圖書館為主題的兒童繪本作為研究對象,並採用內容分析法,分析其中的兒童性與趣味性,及圖書館核心價值之教育性的呈現方式。藉由統整上述研究結果,期能歸納建議予兒童圖書館或圖書館相關部門,進行兒童說故事活動時參考;同時整理以圖書館為主題之兒童繪本的出版現況,提供給兒童繪本的創作者。 本研究整合其他學者對於兒童性與趣味性之描繪方式的分類,並整理成五個類目,其內容分析結果為:畫中有畫(話)(45本)、「重複性」(19本)、誇張性(13本)、喜劇性(3本)、韻律性(2本)。圖書館核心價值觀之教育性,則以美國圖書館學會(2006)所提之十二項為操作型定義;結果為保存(50本)、取用(47本)、多元化(37本)、教育與終身學習(19本)、服務(6本)、專業性(3本)、民主、公共利益和永續發展(各1本),而保密和保護隱私、知識自由和社會責任感皆未被介紹。針對童趣性與圖書館價值的呈現情形,本研究亦對其分析並歸納整理。 研究發現五十本繪本中,多以畫中有畫(話)、重複性的描繪方式展現趣味,故建議兒童圖書館或圖書館相關部門,在說故事活動前,深入探索兒童繪本中的細節,以設計活動與遊戲。另外,目前以圖書館為主題的兒童繪本,尚不足作為多面傳達十二項圖書館核心價值的媒材,故建議適時搭配教具或其他資源,或以圖書館導覽、兒童閱讀推廣活動等其他形式,帶領兒童讀者認識圖書館。 本研究建議兒童繪本的創作者,未來可構思以圖書館為主題的兒童繪本系列,將保密和保護隱私、知識自由等鮮少被介紹的圖書館價值,以兼具兒童性與趣味性的方式囊括於其中,並嘗試結合喜劇性、韻律性的描繪方式,展現童趣。

With fifty library-themed picture books for children in Chinese and English as the object, this study analyzes how they engage children with interesting presentation, and identifies how library core values is presented. Based on the research findings, suggestions are made to children’s libraries or library-related departments for reference they organize storytelling activities for children. Meanwhile, the publishing status of library-themed picture books for kids is investigated to provide guidance for picture book creators. Content analyses revealed that library-themed picture books for children most often take advantage of picture details to attract children. In view of this, children’s libraries or library-related departments are suggested to gain insight into the details of children’s picture books before carrying out storytelling activities, so as to better design the activities and games. In terms of manifesting the core values of librarianship, the preservation of printed books is most often found, while “confidentiality/privacy”, “intellectual freedom”, and “social responsibility” are not presented in these fifty picture books. Given that current library-themed picture books for children are not enough as the resources to convey the core values of librarianship, it is recommended to employ teaching aids or other resources, or lead children readers to understand libraries through library guides, children's reading promotion activities, and other forms of activities. According to the research findings, this study suggests picture book creators present the core values of librarianship that are seldom introduced to children in an interesting way when they conceive library-themed picture book series for children. By far, library-themed picture books seldom employ comedy and rhythm to engage children with interesting presentations. This problem deserves the attention of picture book creators.
