淡江大學視障生使用圖書資源與服務之研究

摘要


本研究背景為淡江大學於1969年成立的盲生課業與生活輔導小組,目標協助全盲生的學校生活與課業,而後在2014年正名視障資源中心致力於協助身心障礙學生面對大學生活、課業、心理及未來就業準備。淡江大學作為臺灣最早成立身心障礙學生支持系統的五所大學之一有其特殊性。對於提供學生圖書資源與服務,淡江覺生紀念圖書館與視障資源中心有不同的權責劃分,研究目的為了解目前視障生的使用現況及提供改善建議。 本研究採用質化研究方式,利用訪談法蒐集研究資料。研究對象為使用過淡江大學圖書館及視障資源中心圖書資源與服務的校內視障生,總計訪談7位外語學院、文學院的視障生,以利掌握目前淡江大學視障生使用圖書資源與服務的狀況。首先了解視障生使用覺生紀念圖書館、視障資源中心的經驗,探討與分析使用的現況及因素。再根據訪談結果提出建議,期能提供淡江大學圖書館及視障資源中心對於視障生資源與服務的改善參考。本研究依據訪談結果,提出以下結論與建議: 一、對覺生紀念圖書館的建議 1.圖書館提供教學數位資源 2.圖書館內電腦新增視障生可讀之中文JAWS 屏幕閱讀系統 3.調整較高的書架號 二、對視障資源中心的建議 1.學期初提供定向服務 2.考前提供鄰近視障資源中心的閱讀空間 3.加強視障生服務的推廣與利用

Tamkang University established the Blind Students’ Class and Life Counseling Group in 1969, with the goal of assisting the school life and schoolwork of all blind students. Then, in 2014, Renamed Visually Impaired Resource Center. It was dedicated to assisting students with disabilities to face college life, schoolwork, psychological and preparation for future employment. Tamkang University is one of the first five universities in Taiwan to establish a support system for students with disabilities. For the provision of student library resources and services, Tamkang Chueh Sheng Memorial Library and the Visually Impaired Resource Center have different divisions of powers and responsibilities. The purpose of the research is to understand the current use of visually impaired students and provide suggestions for improvement. This research adopts a qualitative research method and uses interview methods to collect research data. The subjects of the research are the visually impaired students who have used the library resources and services of the Tamkang University Library and the Visually Impaired Resource Center. Interviewed a total of seven visually impaired students from the School of Foreign Languages and the School of Letters. First, understand the experience of visually impaired students using the Chueh Sheng Memorial Library and the Visually Impaired Resource Center, and explore and analyze the current status and factors of their use. Make suggestions based on interview results. It is hoped to provide Tamkang University with a reference for improving the resources and services of visually impaired students. Based on the interview results, this research puts forward the following conclusions and recommendations: 1. Suggestions for Chueh Sheng Memorial Library (1) Library provides teaching digital resources (2) A Chinese JAWS screen reading system that can be read by visually impaired students is added to the computer in the library (3) Adjust the number of the higher bookshelf 2. Suggestions for the Visually Impaired Resource Center (1) Provide targeted services at the beginning of the semester (2) Provide reading space adjacent to the Visually Impaired Resource Center before the exam (3) Strengthen the promotion and utilization of services for visually impaired students
