全世界不管是英語系國家或華人世界,均已「根深柢固」接受及熟悉英文單字的查詢及背誦方式皆「由左至右」的展開,但因現有英文單詞學習系統存在著單一且唯一的編輯(a-z)方式,故本研究提供英文學習者,運用「母音為首」的字尾歸納英文單詞的學習系統。 一種資訊系統可在PC、NB、平板電腦、電子書、電子辭典、智慧型手機、及雲端運算等執行的系統、且可跨平台執行使用之英語母音為主為首的英語字尾組合學習系統與方法。本英語學習系統包含一個文字資料庫、一個字首轉義資料庫、一個詞性轉換資料庫、一個動畫圖像影音資料庫、及相關可使本系統正常運作之模組元件。 執行方法如下:輸入想查詢英文字尾第一個字母,系統呈現以「母音」為主、子音為輔及為首的該字所有英文字尾組合(由右至左所有字母皆一樣)。其次,選取想要查詢的母音或子音為首的字尾組合,系統呈現該母音為主或子音為輔的所有字尾組合單字。然後,選取欲查詢的英文字,並透過功能鍵呈現該字所有已知相關詞性轉換字及字首轉義字。或直接輸入想查詢的英文字(由左至右),主畫面為該英文字釋義,並呈現一循環功能鍵,可完成如上執行方法;藉由將所有英文單字以規則化的排列,使易混淆字能適時呈現,及以規則化、系統性、全盤性引導學習,提升學習英語效果。
In countries around the world, whether English or Chinese speaking, the idea that search for and recitation of English words begin ‘from left to right’ is familiar, entrenched and widely accepted. However, the fact remains that current English word learning systems have one and only editing mode, a-z. For this reason, this study provides English learners with a learning system that collates English words according to suffixes ‘headed by vowels’. A computer system of English learning works on different information platforms, such as PC, NB, pad, e-book, e-dictionary, smart phone, cloud system, etc. The system identifies different vowels and few consonants and categorizes by suffixes of English words. The English learning system consists of a dictionary database, a prefix transfer database, a speech parts transfer system, and an animation video database that relates modules to make the system work functionally. The methodology is illustrated as follows. When the user enters the first letter (from right to left) of a word to look up, the system will return all combinations of suffixes that mostly starting from a vowel and few from a consonant of the suffix database. Select the suffix from the result and the system returns all words with the same suffix. While looking up the word, the system will return the word’s meaning, tenses and other words which have different prefixes with the function key. Users can also enter English words (from left to right), and the system will returns the meaning of the word. It becomes a cyclic function to complete the methodology. By categorizing English vocabulary through this method (selecting suffixes with the same ending letter), the system can present confusing words properly, systematically, heuristically in order to improve our English learning.
