Smart IR Remote Control Application for Home Electronic Appliances

摘要


本文設計並實作適用於傳統紅外線遙控家電之無線智慧型控制器。本研究從智慧家庭的角度出發,以分層的概念,提出一套從智慧型裝置、中央控制器、IR發射裝置、及家電設備之間的三層通訊架構。 在架構的第一層,本研究設計一個手機的APP提供使用者控制與管理家電,係透過Wi-Fi通訊協定將控制命令傳送至中央控制器,以供中央控制器比對相對應的紅外線碼。第二層為中央控制器與IR發射裝置之間的聯繫,係以ZigBee無線通訊為溝通的橋樑,將控制命令相對應的紅外線碼傳送至指定的IR發射裝置。第三層,以紅外線通訊協定做為IR發射裝置遙控家中電器的使用。 本研究提供兩種使用者介面。第一,將使用者介面建立於智慧型裝置上。本研究製作一個Android系統的APP,因為一般使用者大部分會隨身攜帶智慧型裝置,本研究將使用者平台與智慧型裝置結合,讓使用者可以輕易遙控家電。第二,考量到一些銀髮族對於智慧型裝置感到複雜,本研究另外製作一個具有指向性的手持式遙控裝置,此裝置搭配RFID通訊協定,並於電器上貼上識別的標籤(Tag),使得此裝置具有指向性的特點。本文的指向性係指遙控裝置指向某一項家電產品,便可自動換至那項家電產品控制頁面的功能。本研究並實際布置一個簡單住家場景,透過本文所提出的架構來管理與控制傳統家電設備。

The research and design of this thesis focus on the wireless smart controller for traditional infrared remote controlled household appliances. Aiming at developing new remote control used in a smart home, we proposed an ensemble of a smart device, central controller, IR LED and three-level communication structure between appliances. On the first level, we designed a smartphone APP that provides the user the ease to control and manage his/her household appliances. It sends commands to a central controller via Wi-Fi communication protocol to provide the central controller calibration for corresponding IR code. The second level is the communication between the central controller and the IR LED. With ZigBee acting as the communication bridge, the control commands are sent using corresponding IR codes to the specified IR LED device. On the third level, the user can control household appliances using IR LED with IR communication protocol. We have created two kinds of user interface in this study. One is an interface built in a smartphone, i.e. an Android APP. Considering the fact that most people bring smart phones along wherever they go, we integrates user interface with smart devices so that the user can easily control his/ her household appliances from a distance. The other user interface was inspired by understanding that it may be difficult for the elderly to use smart devices. A hand-held remote control device with RFID communication protocol was also developed along with identification tags on every household appliance, giving the assemblage its directive character. The word "directive" in this essay simply means that when the user "directs" the remote control at the designated appliance, the interface automatically switches to the corresponding control page. To demonstrate how effective the ensemble is, a mini installation was built to simulate a household setting. Using the structure proposed, traditional household appliances can be managed and controlled.
