The purpose of this paper is to study the laser process parameters for tailor welded blanks by using Taguchi method. The laser equipments used include the CO2 and ND-YAG Laser. The process parameters considered include the output power, feed rate, gap of junction, spot diameter, standby power, protective lens, and positioning accuracy of blank. And the objective of quality is the welding width on backside. In addition, salt spray test, tensile test, semi-sphere test, and CCD visual inspection are used to verify the welding quality of samples. The preliminary experimental results showed that the following control parameters like laser bean focus, positioning, output power, feed rate, weld gap were positively correlated with weld quality.
