電漿顯示器在台灣發展的關鍵成功因素探討

摘要


光電產業是我國兩兆雙星產業之ㄧ,而我國電漿顯示器產業(PDP )更早在1995年即由工研院電子所向日本OKI移轉DC-PDP產品技術,並由達碁於1997年接手研發及進行試產,之後華映與台塑於1999年分別自日本三菱及美國Photonics移轉技術,開啟台灣PDP產業的競合關係。然而經過了這幾年的發展結果,台灣PDP在面板廠商面臨韓、日廠商的競爭下,產業優勢已逐漸喪失,而在次世代的PDP產業中,台灣廠商甚至恐將缺席。PDP產業無法像TFT-LCD(薄膜液晶電晶體顯示器)一樣引起重視,其中的原因值得探討。 透過實際的個案訪談與相關文獻理論的探討比較,本研究分析的結論認為PDP由於產品特性只適合應用在電視,因此在整個產業的發展上,掌握品牌將能夠掌握下游的需求,而若能再提升研發技術,採取多面取生產,可以有效降低投資成本,而對企業來說,唯有充足的集團資源,在這個產業才有機會成功。未來台灣在發展資本密集、資金密集產業時,必須要有足夠的集團資源,藉由品牌的行銷與研發的提升,才可確保產業競爭的優勢。

Optical- electrical industry is one of the two trillion-two star industry on Taiwan. Taiwan Plasma industry transferred DC-PDP technology by Industrial Technology Research Institute from Japan OKI on 1995,and began research and production by AUO on 1997. Moreover,CPT and FPDC transferred technology from Japan Mitsubishi and America Photonics on 1999 separately,Opening the Plasma industry competition on Taiwan. After these years development,Taiwan Plasma industry has lost industrial advantage gradually for Japan and Korea competition,even will absence on next generation Plasma TV industry. Plasma TV industry can’t pay much attention to like TFT LCD(Thin Film Transistor Liquid Crystal Display). Therefore,The reason is worth to study. Through the comparison of practical case study and reference document,the study conclusion is that PDP main application only on television for it’s characteristic. So during the development of PDP industry,own the brand will own down stream demand,upgrade the research technology will decrease the investment capital. For company,only having sufficient group resource will ensure the it is success on this industry. While Taiwan develops the industry that capital collective,technology collective in the future,own sufficient group resource and brand marketing,research upgrade,can ensure competition advantage.
