連接器產業競爭力分析研究-A個案公司為例

摘要


本論文研製是以本文作者曾任職三年的公司Amphenol為對象做分析研究, Amphenol Corporation於1932年創立於美國康乃狄克州,為美國知名連接器大廠,主要製造和銷售光纖、及電子連接器等通信設備,以及扁帶、同軸連接線與其他連接器。 本分析研究先以外部因素評價矩陣(External Factor Evaluation Matrix簡稱EFE)、競爭態勢分析(Competitive Profile Matrix簡稱CPM)、內部因素評價矩陣(Internal Factor Evaluation Matrix簡稱 IFE)及SWOT分析。 以SWOT分析如下四種不同的戰略:SO Strategies、 WO Strategies、 ST Strategies及WT Strategies) ,再依據國際研調機構資訊,以邏輯的方法依組織(Organization)、併購及策略結盟(M&A)、技術策略(Technology Strategy)、產品策略(Product Strategy)、市場(Marketing)、財務(Financial)、客戶(Customers) 及產業狀況(Industry) 來研究分析 Amphenol的組織評價與競爭力。 最後以定量之財務三大報表,損益表(Consolidated Statement of Income)、資產負債表(Consolidated Balance Sheets) 及現金流量表(Consolidated Statement of Cash Flow)來做客觀的證據佐證分析 Amphenol的獲利狀況並了解其企業體質,引用 Molex 做為比較的對象,來做一次完整的競爭對手分析。

This research report was based on this research article author last employee company - Amphenol Corporation for studying, the main reason is that Amphenol is a public company on New York Stock Exchange, NYSE, number as APH. Due to Amphenol is a public company, the finance report and related valuable information can get from web site easily. In addition, this research article author (Student: Chang, Lu-Liu) has employed in Amphenol for 3 years (1995 to 1998). It should have more advantage to understand the Amphenol operations and future creating as well. In Taiwan, connector industrial was rising and flourishing development in the worldwide market. Taiwan has worldwide ranked 4th interconnect giant - Hon Hai/Foxconn. This research subject should be interesting for the entire worldwide connector makers and other component makers. But in the Hon Hai / Foxconn annual finance report can’t see the separate connector group financial report and it can’t let us to do “Apple to Apple” Comparison / horizontal analysis with Amphenol. Therefore, we looks for another worldwide connector maker: the third maker: Molex, in the United States of America NASDAQ listing Corporation named MOLX. (Amphenol is the second connector company), it is the most appropriate to do the comparison with the ranked 2nd and ranked 3rd connector makers). Tyco is number one on the worldwide connector company, at this moment. But Tyco had same situation with Foxconn also, it was not just had connector business only. That's way we just choice the Amphenol and Molex for the comparison analysis and research subject. Other competition analysis methods such as EFE Matrix (External Factor Evaluation Matrix), CPM (Competitive Profile Matrix), IFE Matrix (Internal Factor Evaluation Matrix) and SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) strategies apply on this research article. It should be interesting for the entire worldwide connector makers and other component makers. Due to successful to build up the competition methods, also known as "Creation" with innovation business model was each CEO or top management to be a headache issue every day. Such results should be solved their headache event as well as the author can.
