短篇動畫故事結構中影響觀眾情緒之因素研究

THE FACTORS OF STORY STRUCTURE THAT AFFECT AUDIENCES’ EMOTION IN SHORT ANIMATED FILMS

摘要


觀眾在觀看動畫的過程中,會因故事的結構以及人物角色而產生不同的情緒。本研究經文獻整合,以衝突、節奏、驚喜和懸念,探討故事結構中影響觀眾情緒之因素。同時,本研究也運用亞裡斯多德(Aristotle)的三幕式結構,探討其故事結構如何影響觀眾情緒。 本研究以焦點訪談法,訪問 24 位喜歡收看動畫的大學生。分析結果分為 4 部分,第一,研究發現會吸引觀眾的故事結構必須與他們想像不同,同時故事結構不能太平淡。第二,故事情節不能過於重複以及過於詳細交待不需要的情節,容易使觀眾對動畫故事失去興趣。第三,故事結構必須多元化以及讓觀眾意想不到。第四,觀眾認為故事結構必須能讓他們有所期待,才能使觀眾期盼故事結局。研究結果可提供動畫師或編劇在撰寫動畫故事時作為參考依據。

In the process of viewing animation, audiences will generate different emotions through the story structure as well as its characters. The purpose of this study is to analyze how do the four factors (Conflict, Pacing, Surprise, and Suspense) affect the emotion of the audience while watching the animated story, and how does the three act structure affect audience emotion in the animated story structure. Furthermore, the story structure will be applied Aristotle’s perception- the three-act-structure which is Act I, II and III. The study applies focus group interviews of twenty four university students to explore their perception. The results are divided into four main themes, first the audiences prefer the story structure different in their imagination, and the story structure cannot be too smoothly. Second, in the part of pacing, audiences repute story structure cannot be repeated and cannot be too detailed; And third is the part of surprise, the audiences believe story structure have to be unexpected by audiences and the story structure have to be diversified. In addition, in the part of suspense, audiences believe story structure have to allow they feel curiously about the story plot, therefore audiences will looking forward to the subsequent and it will make audiences concerned about the ending of story. In conclusion, the result is expected to be the references for scriptwriter to consider the factors in the process of writing stories for animation.
