幾米繪本之英譯與譯評

摘要

本文為翻譯實務探討，藉由翻譯幾米成人繪本《我的心中每天開出一朵花》、《幸運兒》、《我的錯都是大人的錯》和《星空》，將德國功能翻譯學派凱瑟琳娜．萊斯（Katharina Reiss）的文本類型理論，及克里斯蒂安．諾德（Christiane Nord）的功能加忠誠理論、兩種翻譯基本類型（文獻型翻譯和工具型翻譯）、在文學翻譯上的四項應用建議運用在實務翻譯上，以期譯文讀者能和原文讀者一樣，從閱讀幾米的繪本中得到抒發和慰藉。
本文第一章為緒論，敘述筆者研究的動機和目的。第二章為文獻探討，介紹作者幾米的生平、創作風格、選定繪本的內容，及德國功能翻譯學派的理論。第三章為四篇文本的譯文。第四章為選定繪本中譯英技巧評析，針對時態、稱謂、詞語、飲食名稱、路名、書名和標題、成語和諺語、配合修辭法、配合圖像、古文和詩歌等來進行探討和分析。第五章為結論，筆者將翻譯實務最後的研究結果作總結。

This thesis presents the author’s translation of the four picture books for adults illustrated and written by Jimmy Liao, and the further discussion of the translation, strategies, and techniques. Katharina Reiss’s theory of “text type” and Christiane Nord’s “function plus loyalty”, “two basic types of translation product (documentary translation and instrumental translation)”, and “the four suggestions about the application of functionalism in literary translation” are applied in order for target language readers to have the same effect as the source language readers when reading Jimmy Liao’s picture books.
The thesis is divided into five chapters. Chapter 1 states the purpose and motive of the study. Chapter 2 introduces Jimmy Liao’s life, illustrating and writing style, the four selected picture books, and functional theories of translation. Chapter 3 is the translated text of the four selected picture books for adults. Chapter 4 explains how to apply the theories to practical translation. Chapter 5 concludes the final study of the practical translation.
