纜線數據機自動化多工測試之研究

摘要


有線電纜資料服務介面規範(DataOver Cable Service Interface Specifications, DOCSIS)經過多年的技術演進以及發展,使得纜線數據機近幾年已在北美以及歐洲擁有相當大的市場,但近年面對生產地中國的人力成本飛快上漲,以及缺工問題的日趨嚴重,生產線之自動化多工為減少成本並提升效率的解決方式。纜線數據機生產測試過程中,為了滿足客戶的訂單需求以及為自身企業豎立良好的生產形象,測試站必須要有大量的測試人員依照規劃的測試步驟進行多工測試,用以縮短時程並提升產能。由於纜線數據機產品的特性會出現人力無法負荷測試工作量的情形,進而導致不良率的提高而直接影響產能。自動化多工測試的導入就是為了多工測試時,減少人力成本並調整測試負荷量之方法。 本研究選擇纜線數據機之上線功能驗證測試站做為探討與實驗目標,其原因除了此站包含了DOCSIS的測試驗證與網路傳輸協定的功能驗證兩項,相對於其他站別而言較為複雜,因此需要更多的測試時間與人力之外,此站也是整個生產測試中最容易因為複雜的測試方法、人力操作的失誤、生產測試環境的偏差等造成不良品的測試站。本研究透過實驗法將研究分成兩部分,首先介紹纜線數據機上線功能驗證測試原理,在依照DOCSIS的環境設定下,針對上線功能驗證測試站之測試目的、測試架構、所需設備等進行介紹,提供給測試人員進行測試時的參考範本。另一階段為自動化測試程式的開發,本研究選擇TCL做為自動化程式之開發工具,設計並撰寫纜線數據機上線功能測試驗證程式,並將此自動化程式實際應用在纜線數據機測試站上。針對不同自動化測試進行實驗,比較纜線數據機在不同自動化測試方式下所得到的測試結果,根據實驗結果顯示本研究設計之多網卡自動化多工測試程式可提升單工自動化測試之產能並改善Switch自動化多工測試之缺點,並作為纜線數據機生產測試線導入自動化多工測試之可行性依據。

The evolution and development of DOCSIS has created sizeable markets in North America and Europe. However, the cost of manpower increased drastically as well as the lack of labor issue raised in China over the past years, automation and multi-processing tasks have been applied for cost reduction along with the increase of efficiency. During cable modem testing process, test station will require large number of operators to perform multitask testing by steps in order to fulfill customers’ orders, create brand image, increase production capacity and shorten time to market. Owing to the feature of cable modem, there are times that operators are overloaded and it may result in higher failure rate also to impact production capacity. Implementing automation and multi-processing tasks will greatly reduce the labor cost and share the testing loadings. This research aims to discover cable modem online functional test station to verify DOCSIS specification and network transmission protocol, as its relatively complex comparing to other test stations; requires longer testing time and manpower. Complexity of the testing method, operation errors and testing environment also carries significant impact at this testing station. This research will be divided into two sections. First to introduce online functional testing theory; meaning to have an environment that follows DOCSIS specification then elaborate on online functional verification, test structures, and other necessary equipment to provide a template for operators. Second is the development of automatic testing. TCL was chosen to be the tool for this automation development; to design the functional testing program and apply it in cable modem testing. Running tests on different automations to compare the results and to evaluate its functionality. Lastly, to justify the feasibility of applying automation testing program based on the outcome.
