Meta-analysis between pulmonary tuberculosis and HIV.

As a result of the problem of tuberculosis has been valued, so far there have been many studies to confer the way of treatment, cause of disease and the relation with HIV. In these studies, the results are not the same, which make the readers can’t get the real result. In this paper, we will use meta analysis to integrate the data of relapse of tuberculosis for previous studies, and discuss the relationship between the relapse of tuberculosis and HIV infection. The source of this article is Medline database, we search the topic with relation to Tuberculosis, Pulmonary and Drug Therapy, moreover, we use the odds ratios as effect size and combine them to synthesize a more useful conclusions. The random effect model calculates the difference between studies, therefore, when the studies have existence of heterogeneity, we use the random effect model to integrate data. The result of this paper, the odds of relapse on HIV positive tuberculosis patients is two times of relapse on HIV negative tuberculosis patients. In the past, the studies had different results, after using meta analysis to integrate, we can get more useful conclusion to solve the contradiction of these studies.
