ABSTRACT The outset of this study is to search for a partially preserved natural forest that can be used to develop the “Natural Trail” teaching techniques. The study conducting series of outdoor teaching activities that targeted on implementing the ecology conservation concepts into the mandatory education system up to the junior high level. Main subjects of this research study are including: A. Dajianshan plants resource investigation. Establish the plant resource data base. Studying the possibility of using the “Natural Trail” to execute the environmental education. B. Surveying students’ interest on the subject of ecology education materials to help teachers to design their curriculum. C. Using the Dajianshan ‘s plant resource to establish the “Natural Trail” and to provide the curriculum design guideline. The result of investigation of the plant species in the Dajianshan area recorded 229 species of vascular plants that belongs to 86 families, 182 genera (Ref Table 5). Among them are 45 of Ferns, 148 of dicotyledons and 36 of monocotyledons . They all belong to wide leaf evergreen plant family. The result of survey showed that both teachers and students are agreed on the special use of plants and the introduction of ecology but different on the plant classification concepts, survival mechanism, plants’ title, insects and diseases.
