社會接觸對東南亞新移民女性刻板印象之研究

摘要

本研究主要目的係探討社會接觸對東南亞新移民女性刻板印象之影響，研究樣本取自「台灣社會變遷基本調查計劃」2008年第五期第四次問卷一「大眾傳播組問卷」調查資料，共取得1,980位成年男女之有效樣本。本研究透過多元迴歸分析發現，社會接觸確實會影響台灣民眾對東南亞新移民女性之刻板印象，且Allport所提「群體間接觸假設」之「熟人式接觸」效果也在資賦水準面向得到驗證，表現出台灣民眾倘經常與東南亞新移民女性接觸，則對東南亞新移民女性在資賦水準面向會有較正面之評價。最後，本文不同於以往之發現是，在教育程度方面，相對於國中及以下程度者，高中職及以上程度者對東南亞新移民女性在資賦水準面向會有較負面之印象，此結果說明了縱使是高等教育水準亦無法擺脫對刻板印象之影響；另外，研究結果亦顯示相對於其他非農工階級，農工階級對東南亞新移民女性在資賦水準面向會有較正面之印象。

The main purpose of this thesis is to explore the influence of the social contacts on the stereotype image of the New Southeast Asian female immigrants. Based on data from Taiwan Social Change Survey: Year 5 of Cycle 4(Questionnaire 1), the results of multiple regression analysis show that social contacts really affects the stereotype image of Taiwanese on New Southeast Asian female immigrants. Moreover, the effect of acquaintance contact proposed by Allport has also been verified. It is shown that the more often Taiwanese make contact with the New Southeast Asian female immigrants, the more they will have positive attitude towards them. Compared with those with high school and lower educational backgrounds, people with college educational backgrounds can have more negative assessment on the gift level of the New Southeast Asian female immigrants, a finding that is different from the previous research on this area. Finally, compared to those who are in non-manual occupations, the results show that farmers and blue-collar workers have a more positive attitude toward the New Southeast Asian female immigrants on the gift level.
