摘要


隨著面板業的蓬勃發展,面積的需求往兩極化發展,大尺寸TV的運用逐漸放大及成長;Smart phone、Tablet PC及車用等相關小尺寸的應用,從2011年開始持續大幅成長。加上中國大陸利用其內需市場蓬勃成長的優勢,在國家政策上加大力道鼓勵提高進口替代,不斷的在高世代面板產能上投資,使得面板供應鏈市場之競爭愈益顯著。反觀臺灣面板廠商從2014年起僅剩下兩家廠商生產大尺寸LCD面板,在大尺寸應用產能擴增有限,甚至出現減少。 而原先透過面板供應鏈上、中、下游之垂直整合模式下的臺灣偏光片廠商,在中國加入面板製造的競賽後,破壞了原先的穩定,其如何面對這樣的一個環境變化及未來的競爭挑戰,值得我們探討。本篇論文利用產業經濟學研究的主軸之一,以產業結構、行為、績效(Structure-Conduct-Performance)來研究市場的結構與廠商的行為,並透過個案研究來進行探討及研究,藉以觀察未來的產業方向及提供建議。

With the rapid development of the panel industry and the demand for the large-size TV, the development of polarization has increased significantly. On the other hand, starting in 2011, the products of smart phone, Tablet PC and automobile applications have also continued to grow. On the supply side, due to the national policy of import substitution, there has been a huge investment in new generation of panel production in China, which has its significant impacts on the global supply chain of panel production. Since 2014, there is only two manufacturing firms in Taiwan to produce large-size LCD panel with a limited capacity expansion or even capacity reduction. Traditionally, the Taiwan Polarizer makers adopt the vertical integration model for the panel manufacturing. However, under the new industry competition from China, the original stable relationships among the supply chain has been changed. In this thesis, we use the core theory of industrial economics and adopt the analytical framework of structure, conduct and performance to analyze the market structure and its competition. Through the case studies, our analysis could observe the future development of the industry and provide constructive recommendations for the industry.
