The purpose of this study is to explore the relationship between achievement motivation and self-professional awareness. 350 questionnaires were released. Valid questionnaires were 346, and the recovery rate was 98.84%. According to the results, female students have more intrinsic motivation than male students. More certifications result in higher self-professional awareness. This means if students have more certifications, then they will recognise themselves is professional in the field of catering. Therefore, this study suggested that from the first grade on schools need to strengthen students’ achievement motivation. Indeed, students should aim to obtain the professional certifications. This may lead students to more confidence in developing in the field of catering.
