消費文化中攝影與設計的交會影響與意義

摘要


自1839年攝影術發明以來,人類的文明發展產生了突破性的重大變革,人類的視野也更加的開闊。而自此開始,攝影是不是藝術?也展開了攝影與藝術之間的論戰。 而攝影是在何時傳入台灣?根據目前存在的文獻,並無法得知其確切的年代。時至今日,攝影的發展已與高科技緊密相連,透過攝影與藝術、機具、影像、相片、數位等等的探討,可以發現攝影發明至今,攝影哲學已經改變,而以改變之後的形式,繼續的影響著我們的生活。 現在是一個消費社會,攝影的發展,當然也與消費文化息息相關。因為商業發達,攝影相關產業的成熟,攝影不再是貴族專屬的娛樂,而成了一種全民集體運動。而影像的高度發展,也讓某些風格社群成型。在設計領域中,尤其是視覺傳達設計領域所用的媒材,攝影影像的運用,是其中重要的一部份。 本研究期望透過文獻的分析,探討現代攝影藝術在消費文化中的發展現況,且試圖釐清攝影在現代設計領域中的地位,進而分析消費文化中攝影與設計的交會影響。 主要研究的目的有: 1.蒐集整理台灣攝影史之發展史料,且解讀攝影由傳統進入數位時代之後, 科技的進步發展為攝影帶來之哲學上的改變。 2.解析消費文化與生活風格對攝影及不同時期影像呈現方式的影響 , 與攝 影、設計、消費三者的關係。 3.將上述所發現的結論,能具體實踐於設計的產出過程。 至於本研究的主要成果則為: 1.當前的攝影教育,皆附屬於廣告、傳播、設計等科系,而台灣在102年度 終於要成立攝影系,透過攝影史、攝影理論、攝影美學等課程的養成, 對 我國攝影藝術的提升,應該有所助益。 2.數位時代的攝影發展,改變了傳統的攝影哲學。攝影、網路、手機三者結 合成的傳播媒材,已改變並深入現代人的日常生活, 影像也增加了更多 可能性。 3.攝影促進了消費時代下的風格社群形成,而對於網際網路的依存,已徹底 改變了人們的生活方式。 4.攝影、設計、消費三者現今在互相交會影響下,關係密切,而呈現了互融 與共生的關係。

Human beings, since the invention of photography in 1839, have not only see a revolutionary breakthrough in culture development but also the width and advance in visual field. Since then, people have wondered whether or not photography can be a form of art. As a consequence, there have been bunches of debates between photography and art. According to the current documents, there is no knowing about the exact time photography was first introduced into Taiwan. Up to now, the development of photography has been inextricably intertwined with that of technology; Through researches on photography, art, machines, images, photos, digits, etc., it can be perceived that the philosophy of photography has changed since its origin, and the reformed photography continues and will continue influencing our life. In nowadays’ consumer society, the development of photography has without doubt a strong tie to consumer culture; Now, due to the advanced commercial society and the mature market in photography related industry, photography has ceased to be an entertainment only for the rich and become a popular activity for common people. The wide application of images also helps the forming of some peculiar groups. In the domain of design, the application of photography and image, especially as materials in the field of visual communication, has a very important role. Through documentary analysis, the study has explored the status of current development of the modern photographic art in the consumption culture, tried to identify the position of photography in the modern design field, and further analyzed the mutual influence of photography and design in the consumption culture. The major objectives of the study include the following: 1. Collect and collate the historical accounts of Taiwan’s photographic chronicle, and interpret the philosophic changes brought by technological advancement and development for photography after entry into the digital age from traditional times. 2. Analyze the influences of consumption culture and lifestyles on photography and presentation of images in different periods of times, and the relations among photography, design and consumption. 3. Concretely apply the conclusion of the aforesaid findings to the design output process. The study has come up with the following major results: 1. Currently, photography education is all affiliated to the departments of advertisement, mass communications and design, etc. It is exciting to see Taiwan establish the department of photography in 2013. It is hoped that, by offering the courses of history, theory and aesthetics of photography in education, Taiwan will go a long way in elevating its level of photographic art. 2. Photography developed in the digital age has changed traditional photographic philosophy. The mass media, composed of photography, Internet and Smartphone has changed modernizers’ lives and became part of their lives. Under such circumstances, images have also been more extensively applied. 3. Photography has brought about formation of social networking sites with the styles particularly born under the consumption age. People’s attachment to the Internet has thoroughly changed their life styles. 4. Due to their mutual influence, photography, design and consumption have been closely associated and shown a relationship of compatibility and co-existence.
