By conducting the articulation, an image can be made into words to differentiate the structural unit from the image and form a kind of text, so that the code structure of the image can be understood. The study determined that the iconic sign derived from the signified and the plastic sign transformed from the signifier both can be found in the image and each of them has its own articulation unit and composing method based on the theory of semiotics. The researcher analyzed and sorted out the related units and composing method of the two systems of iconic and plastic signs resulting in images that can be made into words and concrete/abstract art that can be therefore distinguished. Reading and producing images can be clearer, boundless, and free.
