The comparative study method was adopted in this study to examine a total of 19 Kinmen Clan Associations (KCAs) in Taiwan. The study period was from 1964 to 2020: The start year was when the New Taipei City KCA was established as the first KCA in Taiwan. Various factors were used in an attempt to derive some general patterns. These included the establishment date of the KCAs, number of members, number of terms of office, duration of each term, guild halls, proportion of chairpersons originating from Great versus Lesser Kinmen, distribution of chairpersons in terms of originating counties (cities), and gender ratio. The findings confirmed that New Taipei City has the first KCA and is also the county with the largest number of registered members. The Wujiang KCA in Taichung City has the most number of terms of office. Presently, KCA Guild Halls are found in only eight counties (cities). The term of office for the chairpersons generally lasts two years, and the majority of chairpersons (80%) originate from Great Kinmen. Among the five townships, Jinsha and Jinhu produced the most and least number of chairpersons, respectively. The gender ratio of the 100 chairpersons was predominantly male, with as many as 95 males having been elected to the position.
