社會團體工作課程教學成效初探:校外團體實作訓練

A Preliminary Evaluation of Course Effectiveness of Social Group Work: Off-campus Group Work Training

摘要


社會團體工作是社會工作傳統三大直接服務方法之一,也是國內各大專院校社會工作學系的基本必修科目,對於大學部學生的專業基礎養成訓練之重要性不言可喻。本研究文企圖從社工教育者的觀點檢視「社會團體工作」課程之教學成效,了解學生在校外團體實作訓練的學習經驗與困難,並提出課程設計與教學方式之建議。量化資料分析發現,校外團體實作訓練對團體領導能力有顯著提升作用;質性資料分析發現,學生相對缺乏的專業知能是對於團體中個別成員行為的診斷與介入、團體動力的敏感度、以及團體成效的評估。根據上述研究發現,本文建議在授課教師督導協助之下,團體工作課程可安排類似之校外實作訓練以提升學生之團體領導能力。

Social group work is one of the traditional direct methods in social work and also an obligatory foundation course in undergraduate programs in Taiwan. Its importance within professional fundamental training for undergraduate students cannot be overemphasized. This article aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the course ‘social group work’, to understand students’ learning experiences and difficulties, as well as to make suggestions for course design and teaching strategies. According to the results of quantitative data analysis, the training experience of leading off-campus small groups significantly enhances students’ group leading competencies. As to qualitative research findings, it is found that students lack skills in diagnosing and intervening in individual group member’s behaviors, may have insufficient sensitivity to group dynamics, and are unable to adequately evaluate group effectiveness. Based on the research results, the authors recommend that under the course instructor’s supervision and direction, it is feasible to arrange off-campus group skills training to improve students’ group leading competencies.
