An In-situ Case Study of Using Corrosion Protection Inspection Method at Permanent Tie-Back Anchors with Field-Mixed Resin as Grout Material

並列摘要

The long-term behavior of working ground anchors can be measured from the long-term stability of lock-off anchor load and the effectiveness of anti-corrosion measures for anchor components. To do so, the following measures have been taken and tested in the field including in-situ resin grouting method for the anchored anchor end and the measurement of electrical resistance between anchor components and surrounding ground. After a period of one and a half year, the test anchor showed minor decrease in lock-off load. But the electrical resistance dropped significantly from 155.9 MΩ to almost 0 MΩ. It indicated that the resin grout might have cracked over that time period and groundwater managed to seep into the corrosion protection measures and contacted the anchor components. So, the process of in-situ resin grouting may be feasible during anchor installation. But the durability of field mixed resin needs to be further improved to ensure its long-term performance on corrosion protection.
