Based on the conservation of resource theory, the present study investigated whether training hours and levels of reward related with the athlete's burnout. Participants were 328 division I intercollegiate athletes with a mean age of 19.66 (SD=1.43), in which the players completed demographic survey and measuring the Eades athlete's burnout questionnaire. The present study used cross-sectional experiment design to collect data. After eliminating the effects of control variables (e.g., gender and age) on the athlete's burnout, hierarchical regression analyses revealed that training hours have no significant correlation with the athlete's burnout, whereas level of reward was associated with athlete's burnout. This study provided the basis for future studies of demographic variables and athletes' burnout. Besides, this study suggested that future studies should try to set a model of integral burnout for exploring clear progress of athletes' burnout.
