臺灣、中國與美國出版碩士課程比較研究

A Comparative Study of MasterPrograms in Publishing in Taiwan,China, and United Statesfi

摘要


出版產業隨著科技進步,數位科技與電子書的出現讓出版已不僅是傳統紙本印刷與編輯,除了有新的製作與出版方法,商業流通與銷售模式也更加多元,尤其關於數位版權的認定與交易,都使從業人員與教師學生需要學習新的知識技能。學術方面,學校須隨時注意全球市場與環境,配合最新資訊調整教育發展與策略方向,更新課程設計與內容,使教師與學生都能配合社會環境變化成長,讓學術與產業無縫接軌,帶動國家進步。本研究以臺灣、中國與美國地區為範圍,選取11所出版相關研究所,採用比較教育法對出版碩士課程進行相關分析,以瞭解中美臺地區出版碩士課程規劃、設置與異同,探討臺灣出版教育議題。本研究發現中美台地區對於出版教育,在課程設置上其實差異不大,基礎知識能力都有兼顧,差異會因每個學校發展策略以及教育資源不同而有所改變,其中針對出版的課程大約開設10堂,依本研究設計分類,世新大學平均開設2堂,師範大學針對商業與技術開設5堂;中國吉林與南京大學平均每個領域開設4堂左右,並且針對各種出版品開設相對的編輯課程;美國佩斯與紐約大學除法律與科技外,皆開設5堂以上,臺灣的出版課程在碩士授予以課程專精上仍有所困難。

Along with the advancement of the technology, the publishing industry not only includes traditional printing and editing, but appears new process of digital publishing. In addition to the new ways of production and publshing, commercial distribution and marketing strategies have become more diverse. Particularly, the publishers, teachers, and students need to learn more knowledge and skills about the recognization and transaction of digital rights. Academically, educational institutions shall keep track on global market and environment, adjust the educational development and strategic direction with the latest information, update curriculum design, to keep teachers and students be able to improved, and bridge academia and industry to make further progress of the country. The information of this study from 11 publishing related graduate schools in Taiwan, China and the United States, using the comparative education reaserch method for content analysis of their courses, to discover the similarities and dissimilarities of the curriculum design of publishing master’s programs inTaiwan, China, and the United States, and discuss the issues of Taiwanese publishing education. The study discovered that the curriculum design of publishing education in Taiwan, China, and the United States have slight differences. Basic competences have taken into consideration, and the differences vary due to the development strategy and educational resources of each school. There are approximately 10 courses in publishing. According to the study, there are averagely 2 courses in Shih Hsin University, averagely 5 courses for Business and Technology in National Taiwan Normal University. Jilin University and Nanjing University have about 4 courses in each field, and set editing programs for a variety of publications. Pace University and New York University have averagely over 5 courses except in law and technology. Last but not least, the graduate schools in Taiwan still have difficulties in specializing publishing concentrations and curriculum designs.
