文化探索適地性遊戲路徑對心流經驗與遊戲效果影響之研究

Influences of tracking paths on flow experience and game effect in cultural exploration location-based game

摘要


文化探索適地性遊戲適用於在地文化的題材,然而多年來適地性遊戲的研究多著重於系統開發的技術,而探討遊戲策略對遊戲者體驗感受影響的研究則相對較少。本研究針對遊戲探索路徑順序對遊戲者心流經驗的影響進行深入研究,並探討心流經驗與遊戲動機對在地文化了解增進的情形。研究以鶯歌陶瓷文化歷史為題材,並發展出一個適地性遊戲學習系統,以自行決定路徑順序以及遊戲指定路徑順序方式進行實驗。研究結果顯示文化探索適地性遊戲提昇遊戲者對在地文化認識,心流經驗與遊戲動機以及在地文化認識成果間具有一定的關連性,以及探索路徑順序對維持心流經驗具有顯著影響。這項結論可作為後續發展適地性文化探索遊戲路徑設計之參考。研究並建議應針對群組共同行動於適地性遊戲中產生的效應作後續研究。

Location-based game is appropriate for gamified cultural exploration. However, most studies on location-based game have been focused on developing game systems and relatively few on player experiences. This study intended to explore the effects of tracking paths on a multiple targets location-based game. Yingge ceramic culture in New Taipei City of Taiwan was selected as the site for the game. A location-based game that guides player exploring multiple Yingge ceramic cultural sites was developed. An experiment was conducted to investigate the different effects of user-decide and game-decide tracking paths on players flow experiences. Results indicate that playing Yingge location-based game significantly increase player's understandings on Yingge ceramic culture. Results also found that flow experience some kind related to game motivation and cultural understandings. Most important, user-decide tracking paths result in significant better flow experiences . These results could benefit future development of gaming strategies on cultural exploration location-based games. Suggestions for further studies on grouping effects during game competitions are also made.
