資料可視化能力與視覺素養之研究

摘要


印刷是文化知識,保存與傳播重要的途徑,大數據時代,資料的型態不再只是文字和圖片,採用資料可視化的溝通方式日益重要,資料可視化能力與視覺素養,變成是印刷產業人才必備的專業技能。Rosling(2006)提出將統計數據圖像化,方便理解數據資料,龐雜的資料藉由圖像的詮釋有助於吸收內容。本研究目的在於探討資料可視化與視覺素養現況、以及探討媒體學習、資料可視化與視覺素養之關係。研究方法採用美國大學與研究圖書館協會(ACRL)高等教育視覺素養能力標準與加州大學聖塔芭芭拉分校的教授Sorapure(2019)提出資料可視化的四個關鍵要素,發展研究問卷,共發放308份問卷,回收272份有效問卷,並以相關分析、獨立樣本t檢定、單因數變異數分析、與多元迥歸分析等統計方式進行資料分析。研究結論:1.女性的視覺素養之「解釋圖表」與「遵循法律」高於男性;2.資料可視化之「影像」的偏好是影響視覺素養的重要因素;3.教育程度越高在媒體學習與資料可視化能力越高;4.受測者「評估圖表」、「創造圖表」的視覺素養較弱。研究建議:1.加強資料可視化之應用的教育;2.加強視覺素養中「評估圖表」、「創造圖表」能力。研究結果可做為學術界與產業界發展之參考。

Printing is an important way for the preservation and dissemination of cultural knowledge. In the era of big data, the type of data is no longer just words and pictures. The use of data visualization communication methods will become increasingly important. Data visualization and visual literacy have become essential for printing industry talents Professional skills. Rosling (2006) proposes to visualize statistical data to facilitate the understanding of data. The interpretation of complex data helps people absorb content. Therefore, the use of data visualization communication methods is important. The purpose of the research is to explore the current status of data visualization and visual literacy, and to explore the relations between "media learning", "data visualization" and "visual literacy". The research method was adopted for The Association of College & Research Libraries (ACRL) Visual Literacy Competency Standards for Higher Education and the University of California Santa Barbara professor Sorapure (2019) proposed four key elements of data visualization, developed research questionnaires, and issued a total of 308 A questionnaire, 272 valid questionnaires were valid, and data were analyzed by statistical methods such as correlation analysis, independent sample t test, single factor variance analysis, and multiple regression analysis. Research conclusions: 1. Women's visual literacy "Explanatory Charts" and "Follow the Law" are higher than men's. 2. Data visualization's preference for "images" is an important factor affecting visual literacy. 3. The higher education level people has higher ability for both media learning and data visualization. 4. The tester has the weakness of the "evaluation charts" and "creating charts" in visual literacy. Research recommendations: 1. Strengthen the "image" education in data visualization. 2. Strengthen the ability of "evaluating charts" and "creating charts" in visual literacy. The research results can be used as a reference for the development of academia and industry.
